SWVMA Conference 2020

Invasive Plant Species in Response to Urban and Wildland Fire

9 am – 5 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Due to COVID-19, SWVMA’s annual conference will be held virtually. However, this will not change the quality of information exchanged, presentations offered, or your opportunities to network. We’re in the process of lining up keynote speakers and gathering a cadre of other qualified guest lecturers that will provide current and useful restoration-based research and field-practical information. The conference will provide 6 approved Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for Arizona Department of Agriculture pesticide applicators and the opportunity for conference sponsors to share their products and knowledge.

Speakers will address topics including:

  • Impacts and control of invasive grasses
  • Invasive grass – fire cycle in the southwestern US and specific parts of Arizona
  • Regional invasive species mapping and removal
  • Stinknet (Oncosiphon piluliferum) impacts and control
  • Case study of a post fire assessment in the upland Sonoran Desert
  • Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management Invasive Plant Grant program

Register by midnight on Friday, November 13! When registering, select “PayPal” to pay by credit card, then click on the type of card below the PayPal buttons that appear. Registration for the conference includes membership in SWVMA for one year. Sign up today and don’t miss out on new conference announcements and other important invasive plant and restoration focused developments.
